Andrews One Day Camp MeetingThe following Sabbath, August 13, we noticed there was to be a one day Creation Sabbath camp meeting in Andrews, North Carolina with Ted Wilson featured speaker. I thought at first that this would not doubt be a video of him played for the audience in a large swap meet building in a corn field. But on the chance that he might actually be there in person, I determined to print a copy of our Appeal Letter and deliver it to her personally. We sat in the last row of the main section so my father-in-law could have his wheel chair in the area provided for them. As the place filled with what appeared to be several hundred listeners, I saw Ted Wilson walk down the side aisle on the side we were in and take a seat only 5 or 6 rows ahead of us. When Charles Hasle finished his rivoting story of his father's experience of faithfulness in World War II, an intermission was announced and people got up from their seats in the row where Ted was but he remained seated. I saw this as my chance. I walked up to his row, sat down next to him and handed him the Letter, asking him if he would mind me giving it to him. He said, "It all depends on what it is." I explained that I had just been disfellowshiped the previous Sabbath because I believe that Jesus is the Son of God. He said, "Isn't that what we have always taught?" I said that sadly, we are being told that He is not actually the Son of God, but that He is merely role playing. "Roll playing?" He sounded surprised. "I never heard of such a thing." We talked about the original Fundamental Principles and how Ellen White predicted that one day they would be "accounted as error." I showed him the exercept in the letter. He briefly read the first two and then said, "Where does it talk about the Holy Spirit?" I pointed him the first one and that the Father is represented everywhere by His Spirit. Psalm 139:7. He then asked me if I was the Hullquist that wrote the Folksinger's Hymnal with Steve Guptill. I said, "Yes! He's my brother-in-law." At that point someone interrupted and told Ted that he needed to come up front. He was next.
