God the Father and Jesus Christ His Son
The Bible is plain in teaching that “there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom for all” 1Timothy 2:5,6. Paul agrees, “To us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things…and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things…Howbeit this knowledge is not in every man?” 1Cor 8:6,7. The early church believed this simple yet profound truth. The true God has a Son. Many “turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus” 1Thes 1:9,10. “This is life eternal that they might know Thee [Father], the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent” John 17:3. He is “that eternal life, which was with the Father” 1John 1:2. He is the Word who was “with God” “in the beginning” John 1:1 when He was glorified “with the glory which [he] had with [his Father] before the world was” John 17:5. God gave everything to His Son John 3:35. “All power in heaven and earth was given” to Him Matt 28:18. He is “the power of God” 1Cor 1:24, “the power of the most High” Luke 1:35. “Christ, the wisdom of God” 1Cor 1:24. When Father Jehovah “possessed” him, “the beginning of His ways, before His works of old, or ever the earth was, [wisdom, the Son] was brought forth” Prov 8:22-24 just as the “Woman [Eve]…came out of man [Adam]” Gen 2:23. “For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man” 1Cor 11:8 who is her source, for “the head of the woman is the man” as God is the Source of His Son: “The head of Christ is God” 1Cor 11:3. Head is source or origin just as the head waters of a river are its source. “A river went out of Eden…and became four heads” Genesis 2:10, the source of four new rivers. “For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels” 1Cor 11:10. Angels Doubted. Lucifer, who had “fallen from heaven” Isa 14:12; Rev 12:9; Jude 6, questioned whether Christ was really “the Son of God” Matt 4:3, Lt42-1910.3. So, the Father showed the universe, in bringing forth Eve out of Adam, that the Son of God, who came out of the Father, “is before all things, the beginning, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell” Col 1:17-19; 2:9; Phil 2:6. God the Father is the source of His Son. Because Jesus said, “I came out from God. I came forth from the Father” John 16:27,28. “I proceeded forth and came from God” John 8:42. Jesus said, “the testimony of two men is true: I am one that bear witness of myself, And the Father that sent me bears witness of me” John 8:17,18. Two witnesses of Christ’s Sonship. The Father called him “His dear Son… for by him were all things created” Col 1:13,16, Yes, “God created all things by Jesus Christ” Eph 3:9. Likewise, Eve was “the mother of all living” Gen 3:20, just as the Son of God was “the Prince of life” Acts 3:15. The Father appointed Him “heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds” Heb 1:2. When He “established all the ends of the earth.” it was asked: “What is His name, and what is His Son’s name?” Prov 30:4, a name he obtained “by inheritance” Heb 1:4. The one who established all the end of the earth had a Son, the Son of God, Dan 3:25. The Father gave everything to His Son. “The Father loves the Son and has given all things into his hands” John 3:35. Jesus said, “All things are delivered unto me of my Father” Matt 11:27. For “as the Father has life in Himself, so has He given to the Son to have life in himself” John 5:26. The Son has the same eternal, immortal, self-existing life of His Father by divine inheritance. John prayed, “Grace be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father in truth and love” 2John3. One Spirit, One Flesh. “And God said, Let us make man in our image…male and female” Gen 1:26. So the Father, the Ancient of days, Dan 7:13, and His Son created Adam first and then Eve, 1Tim 2:13. God the Father is Spirit, John 4:24, and His Son “which is born of the Spirit is Spirit” John 3:6, inheriting all the fullness of God. The Son is thus the express image of His Father’s person, Heb 1:3. He is the “image of the invisible God” Col 1:15, 2Cor 4:4. The Son of God was of one Spirit with his Father, 1Cor 6:17, just as Eve was of one flesh with Adam, Gen 2:24, and inherited the same family name, Adam, Gen 5:2. So, also the Son “received all things” from his Father, Matt 11:27, including the name Jehovah, the “name above every name” Phil 2:9, because it was “in him” Exo 23:21. Jesus said, “I am come in my Father’s name” John 5:43, “that all men should honor the Son even as they honor the Father” John 5:23.

The counsel of peace was between them both”, Zech 6:13, between the Lord Jehovah and the BRANCH verse 12, between God and the only begotten of the Father, John 1:14. This was before “God sent His only begotten Son into the world” 1John 4:9, before “the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world” verse 14. Since the Father and Son were before all things, “no man knows the Father except the Son” Matt 11:27. And “no one comes to the Father but by” the Son, John 14:6, thru the eternal Spirit, Heb 9:14. The Spirit of God was present at creation, Gen 1:2, and the spirit [ruach], the breath, the wind, the word of God spoke. “By the Word of the Lord were the heavens made” Psalm 33:6. The Son spoke for his Father, John 12:49. The Father has given His Spirit to His Son without measure, John 3:34. Thus, the Son of God was “made a life-giving Spirit,” 1Cor 15:45. “For as the Father raises up the dead, and gives them life; even so the Son gives life to whom he will” John 5:21. It will be the Son of God who will raise the dead when he comes again, John 5:25, 1Thes 4:16. Jesus said, “I am the truth” John 14:6. As a life-giving Spirit, he is “the Spirit of truth” John 5:17. As His adopted sons, “God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts” Gal 4:6. Just as “the Spirit of Christ was in them [the prophets]” 1Pet 1:10 inspiring them to write, so the Spirit of Christ “bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God” Rom 8:16. With us and in us. Jesus promised not to leave the disciples comfortless, but would come to them, John 14:18. He said that he and his Father would come and dwell with us, John 14:23. He said, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world” Matt 28:20. “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Heb 13:5. The Spirit of Christ is always with you. Jesus “breathed” on them saying, “Receive the Holy Spirit” Jn 20:22. “Know ye not your own selves how that Jesus Christ is in you?” 2Cor 13:5. “Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you?” 1Cor 6:19. “Christ lives in me” Gal 2:20, for it is “Christ in you the hope of glory” Col 1:27. “strengthened by His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts” Eph 3:16,17. “the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death, Rom 8:2. “if the Spirit of God dwells in you…[you have] the Spirit of Christ…Christ is in you” Rom 8:9,10. “If my words abide in you,” Jesus said, “you shall ask.. and it shall be done” John 15:7. “And the words that I speak…they are Spirit and they are life” John 6:63. “I will pour out my spirit unto you, and I will make my words known unto you” Prov 1:23. “I will pour water upon him that is thirsty…I will pour my spirit upon thy seed” Isaiah 44:3. “If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink” John 7:38. “the water that I shall give” shall be “a well of water springing up into everlasting life” John 4:10. “river of water of life proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb” Rev 22:1.
Jesus is our Comforter (parakletos) John 14:18 and Advocate (parakletos) with the Father 1John 2:1. He has the seven Spirits of God, Rev 3:1, He is the Lamb of God with “seven eyes which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth” Rev 5:6—the omnipresence of the Son, “The Spirit of Jesus” Phil 1:19. He “bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God” Rom 8:16. Thus, “we have the mind of Christ” 1Cor 2:16 “Let this mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus” Phil 2:5. “There is one Lord Jesus Christ” and “the Lord is that Spirit” 2Corinthians 3:17. He is the one who stands at the door and knocks, Rev 3:20, it is His voice that we hear. Only Jesus can give us “grace to help in time of need” Heb 4:16, because only Jesus has been “touched with the feeling of our infirmities” and “tempted in all points like as we are” verse 15. Only Jesus “took part of the same…flesh and blood” Heb 2:14. Only Jesus is both the Son of God and the Son of man—two personalities, divine and human. Only Jesus can “divest Himself of the personality of humanity” Lt119-1895.18,25 “Christ, in disguise, is constantly by our side.” We pray to the Father as did Jesus, John 17; we may pray to Jesus as did Stephen, Acts 7:59. We may pray in the Spirit, Eph 6:18; Jude 20, but no example is given in Scripture for us to pray to the Spirit.
“He that abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son” 2John 3,9.“Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ” 1John 1:3.
